Tech Dump’s ROBOT Fashion Show- Can Can Wonderland- Aug 6, 6-8pm

Robots, Fashion and sustainability- possibly the weirdest combination of interests ever which is what makes this so fabulous. Stop by Can Can Wonderland on Sun to check out this very unique fashion show featuring live audience voting.  Participation info and more found hereCost:  FREE

Beer, Burger & Bacon Festival- Canterbury

Formerly just a beer festival, Canterbury is stepping it up this year and adding in burgers and BACON, oh yeah, and the BoDeans will be there too!  Sure to be a wonderful time to meet all your beer, burgers and BACON needs.  Get your tickets here.  Cost:  $10- $75

Indian Taco Sale-MN Indian Women’s Resource Center- Aug 4, 11-4pm

Have you ever had an Indian Taco?  They are awesome and this is your chance to find out for yourself and do some good in the process.  This is a cancer fundraiser for Wawataygezhik Thunder.  Look here for more info.  Cost:  $6 each

MN Windchill vs Pittsburg Thunderbirds- SeaFoam Stadium (St. Paul)- Aug 4, 7:30- 10pm

Come cheer for the MN Windchill, our Professional Ultimate Disc Men’s team in their first playoff appearance in franchise history.    Info and advance tickets are online.  Cost:  $5-$10

Ants in the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden- Walker Sculpture Garden- Aug 3-6, 11am, 12, 2, 3pm)

This kid-friendly, open -air exhibit features giant costumed ants hosting interactive performances that will bring children together in a gentle roving landscape project.  If you haven’t had the opportunity to see the remodel yet, look here.   Cost:  FREE

Books and Beer Pop Up Bookstore- Black Stack Brewing- August 6, 1- 6pm

This event combines two of my favorite things- MN Authors and beer.  Several local authors will be on hand at this pop-up bookstore event so drop by, buy a book, get it autographed and then have a beer.  Read local.  Drink local. Cost:  Free admission

Lowertown Guitar Festival- Mears Park-  Aug 5, 3-10pm

McNally Smith hosts this guitar festival each year and it just keeps getting better.  Live music in the park, several thousands fans dropping by and some great musicians.  The music will cover several genre’s and feature some amazingly accomplished guitarists.  Lots of fun restaurants and bars in the area and the food trucks will be there too.  Cost:  FREE

Englebert Humperdink- Ordway- Aug 6, 7:30-10pm

This is so corny, that I couldn’t resist it making the DO list this week.  Back in the day, ladies would throw their panties to him on stage, now, it may be depends.  Either way, it will be a fun event and you can claim you saw the man with the greatest name in show business.  Cost:   $57-$99

Ah MST3K, one of the geekiest shows to make a comeback this year and it will be live in Mpls.  Here is your chance to get in on the full with your favorite robots and mock some pretty bad films.  Tickets are available in advanceCost:  $39-$50
