Jesus Christ Superstar- Ordway- Now July 30th
I had seen JCSS before and it wasn’t my favorite Andrew Lloyd Webber show, but this version by the Ordway featuring a huge amount of local talent will blow you away. The voices are incredible in this ensemble and they do a fantastic version. I do need to warn hou however that the songs will stay in your head for days so expect to sing them in the shower, while driving in your car etc. Cost:

Fitness in the Parks: Free Kickboxing -Harriet Island- July 27, 6-7am
Fitness in the Parks is a way to experience a variety of different fitness classes to see what you like without a big financial commitment. Here is your chance to give kickboxing a go. Closest parking lot would be the East parking lot at Harriet Island. Cost: FREE

Mosaic on a Stick- Can Can Wonderland- July 30, 11am-3pm
Come learn about how to make a mosaic in this free drop-in class great for all ages. This class will be hosted by Mosaic on a Stick. Cost: FREE

Pixar Costume Day- Science Museum- July 29, 12-4pm
Thinking about going to see the Pixar exhibit? Well, Saturday is a Pixar costume event. Come as your favorite character from Ratatolie, Bugs Life, Incredibles, Toy Story or more. There will be face painting, hand-on activities and more. They are hoping to be the largest Pixar group photo. Harry Potter a Narrated Yoga Adventure- Yogaquest- Aug 1, 7-8:30
Aug 1st is Harry Potter’s birthday. Whether you got your invitation to Hogwarts or not, here is a chance to celebrate. Yogaquest is not your typical yoga class. They combine yoga with fan- fiction & storytelling. It is guided by a narrator & yoga instructor who help you on your journey to strength, balance and flexibility while taking you on a journey to the wizzarding world. Cost: $15

Color Vibe 5K- Harriet Island- July 29, 9am-11am
Go run whle getting splattered by vibrant colors. This colorful 5K is open to all ages and a portion goes to charity. Cot: $30-$65 kids under $12 are FREE

Lake Street Workshop Lantern Making- In the Heart of the Beast Theater- July 26, 6-8:30
IHOB has teamed up with local artists and small community businesses to bring you a unique series of events. This one will teach you how to make paper lanterns. Homemade LaLa Ice Cream will be there selling their delicious wares too. Cost: FREE

Suessical the Musical- Como Dockside-July 27-29th 7pm
One of the most beloved shows, the Highland Park Community Center Theater is performing Suessical at the Como Pavillion this weekend. This is a fun and energetic show great for kids and adults. Cost: $10

Movie on the Roof: Pulp Fiction- Crave- July 31, 7-11:30
Crave hosts movies on the roof every Monday night and this week it is 90’s cult classic Pulp Fiction. Come watch modern gangsters Vincent and Jules avenge their boss while having philosophical conversations. An all-star cast and amazing soundtrack complete the show. Half price bottles of wine and late night happy hour starts at 9. Cost: Free, food and drink extra

Adult Snow Cone Weekend- Bourbon Butcher (Farmington)- July 28-30
YUM! Puttin a decidingly adult spin on a traditionally kids treat the Bourbon Butcher has a variety of adult snowcones this weekend. With flavors like Lei Lani (Rum, Banana, Pineapple & Coconut) and Boo Ga Loo (Vodka, Habiscus, Creme De Cassis, Lime & Pomegranate) it is sure to be wonderful. Consider planning ahead and bring a DD or get an Uber. Also kid friendly flavors. Cost: Nothing Listed

Corgi’s & Cupcakes- Canterbury Park- July 29, 12:45-6pm
Corgi’s & Cupcakes- do you really need another reason to head to Canterbury? There will be 72 dogs racing on this day, 7 races and one champion on the main track and a host of local bakeries selling their sweets. Cost: $3-$20

Rugby 101: An Introductory Course & Free Social Hour- St. Louis Park/ Lush- Aug 1, 6:30-8:30
MN Mayhem Rugby Club is hosting an event to teach you the basics of the game. They will run you through a variety of rules and hand-on drills (no tackling) to give you a feel for the sport and then you head to Lush to help kill a keg of MN finest “Premium” domestic lager. Come with comfy gym clothes and running shoes or cleats. Cost: FREE

BareBones Dumpster Duel- House of Balls-July 29 noon- July 30 8pm
Dumpster Duels kicks off at noon on Sat and runs for 30 hours while teams create characters, stories, and puppets from garbage. This competition culminates with performances beginning on Sunday at 6pm. You are invited to come at any point to watch the transformation of trash into wild and racous puppet shows. Audience applause, along with heckling, bribery and completely arbitrary rules will decide the winner. Donations go to the Barebones Puppets Annual Halloween Extravaganza. Cost: Suggested donation of $10-$20

Harry Potter Birthday Party- Northgate Brewery- July 29, 12-8pm
Northgate is hosting its 2nd annual HP Bday event. Lots of things going on for the kids and the Harry-Potter lover in all of us. Beer Pong Quittoch, Costume Contest, HP Trivia, Divination, Pules, Pries and give-aways. Cost: FREE admission,but some of the additions may cost extra.

Loring Park Art Fetival- Loring Park- July 29, 10am-6pm
Lots of fun and graet art festivals in the Twin Cities and here is another one. Head to Loring Park to check out works by 140 local artists in a great setting. Food trucks will be there serving refreshments. Cost: FREE
