Directors Cut FRIENDS- Phoenix Theater- Nov 11, 10:30pm

Phoenix Theater is at it again- this time they are tackling one of our favorite Thanksgiving episodes of FRIENDS.  Come watch these local actor/comedians reenact and spoof our favorite show for some holiday fun.  Cost:  $10-15  (booze extra)

Cat Bingo- Hygga- Nov 13, 8-10pm

If you love cats and bingo then here is an event for you.  Hygga in Lowertown is hosting a bingo event and the proceeds
benefit Saved By A Whisker, a no-kill local rescue!  Hygga is a cozy space with a full bar and and food and will be showing cat videos on the big screen themed snacks and drinks.  Cost:  Nothing listed

Walking Dead Trivia- Uptown Tavern & Rooftop- Nov 8, 8-10pm

Test you Walking Dead trivia at the Uptown Tavern & Rooftop!   Expect this quiz to cover all topics from season one through season 8! So spoiler alert — BE UP TO DATE! No need to register – just show up for a night of undead.  This is one of the few times it is acceptable to dress as a zombie so suit up.  Cost:  No more than $5

Fulton Keg Tapping & Pinball Tournament- Tilt Pinball Bar- Nov 8, 7-10pm

What happens when local brewery Fulton pairs with Jameson whiskey?  Head to Tilt Wed eve as they tap a special keg of Whiskey, War and Peace, Fulton’s Jameson Barrel Aged Imperial Coffee Stout to find out.  There will be a variety of Jameson and Fulton beverages and of course a pinball tournament with prizes for the top finishers, Fulton gear and a free pint glass for entering.  Cost:  FREE to enter (beer/whiskey extra)

Marriage of Figaro by the MN Opera- Ordway- Nov 11-19

MN Opera is bringing you Mozart’s infectious score with wit, drama, and humanity to this comedy of errors widely considered the perfect opera. Will Figaro and his charming fiancée make it to the altar as they attempt to fend off the philandering, arrogant Count Almaviva?   Cost:  $25-$220

Amelia Earhart: Fame, Feminism, and Fulfillment- Merriam Park Library- Nov 8, 7-8:30pm

friends of the Library is hosting a Women’s History  Trailblazers Lecture series and this one features one of my favorites.  Professor Jill Zanniser will be speaking about:  Amelia Earhart: Charting a Course Toward Fame, Feminism, and Fulfillment.  Did you know Earhart was a Minnesotan?  That’s right- come hear about her feminist advocacy, stardom and how she handled her celebrity.   Cost:  FREE

Tell us your Ghost Stories- Billy’s Bar & Grill (Anoka)- Nov 14, 6:30-8:30

Ghost stories don’t just happen on Halloween or around the campfire and Billy’s Bar is hosting an evening of opportunity to hear people tell their stories and you can share yours as well.  They will meet in the basement conference room.  Cost:  $5 (food/ beverage is extra).

3rd Annual Traditional Lacrosse Games- Savage Sports Center- Nov 12, 10am-3pm

Twin Cities Native Lacrosse is hosting an all ages & abilities “Great Lakes” style stick lacrosse game   This is on an indoor field and there are 30 community sticks you can use if you don’t have their own.  Cleats are welcome.  Come to watch or play.  Skill sessions will be taught for beginners and games may be split up by age categories or other groupings.  There will be plenty of ball games for the youth.  10am warm-ups and games start at 11am.  Cost:  FREE (participation and spectators)

Feast of Fools- Lab Theater Mpls-  Nov 11- Dec 9

Back in the age of kings, queens, and knights, there was one day per year when court jesters, village clowns, and other fools let loose; doing and saying things they normally never would to the nobles– until the festival was banned. Now, ‘the fools’ will reign once again as Interact Center for the Visual & Performing Arts brings the Feast of Fools to The Lab Theater in Minneapolis. A cast of dozens brings to life this topsy-turvy tale of intrigue and redemption, set to a live score by a five-piece orchestra, and led by acclaimed storyteller and NPR contributor Kevin Kling and directed by Jeanne Calvit.  Cost:  $5-$22

Fins & Flights- Sea Life @ MOA- Nov 10, 8pm

Local breweries are teaming up with the aquarium to help save sea turtles. Here is a wonderful opportunity to sip on some suds and wander though the exhibits on this adult-only event. Get up close to sharks, sea horses and a variety of auatic life. A portion of all funds will go to the Georgia Sea Turtle hospital. 21+ Save $ by ordering tickets in advance   Cost: $15-$55

Harry Potter Trivia Night: The Deathly Hallows- The Claddaugh (Maple Grove)- Nov 14, 7pm

The Claddaugh is wrapping up their HP Trivia series with The Deathly Hallows on Tuesday.  How well do you know the characters, spells and tidbits of the HP world?  Come test your knowledge.  Reservations recommendedCost:  Nothing listed– believe it is free with food and drink extra

Pierogi Pop Up- Lyn 65 Kitchen & Bar -Nov 9, 6-10pm
Lyn 65 has matched themselves up with Lowry Meats for this event. They will be swinging sausages and pierogi’s all night long so stop in and fill that ‘rogi void. There is also the option to order your Thanksgiving Turkey from Lowry Meats.  Cost: Nothing Listed
