Hot Air Balloon Festival- Duluth- Bayfront- Sept 15-17
This is a spectacular event featuring a variety of activities including a 5K, hot air balloon rides, a kite fly and more. If you haven’t watched hot air balloons before it is very interesting an beautiful so bring your camera. Most events will be down at the bayfront, but the balloons will be visible all over the area. Cost: FREE

Flood The Rink- Xcel Center- Sept 16, 6am-3pm
This new tradition is the kind of thing that makes living in MN great. Here is a chance for you to bring water from your home rink- your pond, your lake, your cabin and donate that water to the MN Wild rink. This year’s rink will truly be our home ice. Bring your 3 oz of water to the X- there will be a Zamboni outside gate 1 to collect your water and will be filtered and then used to make the ice the next day. Cost: FREE

Drumming Test Drive Week- Women’s Drum Center- Sept 17-23
There area a whole lot of classes to choose from and here is your opportunity to try them all. Classes at the Women’s Drum Center are all Women- only and 16+ unless otherwise noted (take a look there area several coed ones too). Cost: FREE week of classes.

In the Heights- Ordway- Sept 12-24
Before there was Hamilton, there was In the Heights. Come see Lin Manuel’s Tony award -winning show about home and finding where you belong. This is an Ordway production featuring some wonderful local talent and has a ton of heart. Cost: $34-$127

French Cooking Class for Teens- Alliance Francaise/ Les Dejunes AMFMP- Sept 16, 4:30-6:30pm
Got a kid who loves to cook? Here is a class for them to try their hand at ecalirs, gougeres and more Open to teenagers who love to cook- RSVP required. Email Alexie : alexieb@afmsp.org to register (registration is required). Cost: FREE

Minnesota Orchestra – at the Commons- Sept 19,6-7pm
Osmo Vasnka will conduct the MN Orchestra in a concert at the Commons across the street from US Bank stadium. Bring a picnic or some dinner to go and a lawn chair or blanket for this one hour concert. Music will include Sibelius “Findlandia” and John Williams “Raiders of the Lost Arc.”

A Tribute to Judy Garland and Bette Midler w/ Erin Schwab- Crooners- Sept 14, 7:30-9:30
One of the best lounge singers in the Twin Cities, Erin Schwab, is doing a tribute night to Judy and Bette. Sure to wow you with favorite songs of these two giants, Erin is also quite funny and usually keeps you laughing in between the songs. Cost: $15

Lola Art Crawl- Longfellow Neighborhood- Sept 16-17
League of Longfellow Artists are holding an art crawl. Wind your way through this diverse group of artists while they how their talents in a variety of settings. Cost: Free

Aladdin- Orpheum- Sept 15- Oct 8
A new Disney musical based on one of our favorite animated films. Aladdin is here on a touring production and will be sure to take you to “A Whole New World” of wonder. The stage productions of these Disney films ae always fantastic and I am looking forward to checking this one out. Cost: $39-$155.
